(James 4:13-15 NIV) Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.”Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.”

(1 John 2:17 NIV) The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.

√ The SOVEREIGN will of God.  *What God is DOING on the earth.

√ The MORAL will of God.  *What God has ALREADY SAID in His Word.

√ The PERSONAL will of God.  *What God DESIRES for my life.

(1 John 4:1 NLT) Dear friends, do not believe everyone who claims to speak by the Spirit. You must test them to see if the spirit they have comes from God. For there are many false prophets in the world.

1. Am I in RIGHT RELATIONSHIP with God?
(Romans 12:2 NLT) Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

2. What does THE BIBLE say?
(Isaiah 40:8 NLT) The grass withers and the flowers fade, but the word of our God stands forever.”
(Luke 21:33 NLT) Heaven and earth will disappear, but my words will never disappear.

3. What would JESUS do?
(James 3:14-17 NLT) But if you are bitterly jealous and there is selfish ambition in your heart, don’t cover up the truth with boasting and lying. For jealousy and selfishness are not God’s kind of wisdom. Such things are earthly, unspiritual, and demonic. For wherever there is jealousy and selfish ambition, there you will find disorder and evil of every kind. But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere.

4. Have I sought GODLY COUNSEL?
(Proverbs 11:14 NIV) For lack of guidance a nation falls, but victory is won through many advisers.
(Matthew 7:16-17 NLT) You can identify them by their fruit, that is, by the way they act. Can you pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? A good tree produces good fruit, and a bad tree produces bad fruit.

5. Do I sense GOD’S PEACE?
(1 Corinthians 14:33 NKJV) For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, . . .

6. Is it MY WILL or GOD’s WILL?
(Matthew 26:39 NLT) He went on a little farther and bowed with his face to the ground, praying, “My Father! If it is possible, let this cup of suffering be taken away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.”
