(Luke 19:1-10 NIV) Jesus entered Jericho and was passing through. 2 A man was there by the name of Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector and was wealthy. 3 He wanted to see who Jesus was, but because he was short he could not see over the crowd. 4 So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree to see him, since Jesus was coming that way. 5 When Jesus reached the spot, he looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today.” 6 So he came down at once and welcomed him gladly.

The Spot: A divine appointment with Jesus that changes a person’s destiny forever! Be like the sycamore tree, where people can climb up us just to get a glimpse of Jesus!

1.) You’re exactly where you need to be.
(Mark 16:15 NCV) Jesus said to His followers, “Go everywhere in the world, and tell the Good News to everyone.”
(2 Corinthians 5:20) We are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us.

2.) Be committed to your own personal growth.
(John 15:5)
Jesus said, “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.
(1 Peter 3:15) Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.

3.) Be relational with those around you.
(Matthew 5:16) “Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
(Colossians 4:5-6) Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.

4.) It will be difficult, but it will make a difference.
(1 Corinthians 9:22b) I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some.
