(John 10:10 NIV) The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; . . .
√ If the devil can DISTRACT us, we will DESTROY ourselves.
(Psalm 42:4 MSG) ‘These are the things I go over and over, emptying out the pockets of my life. I was always at the head of the worshiping crowd, right out in front, Leading them all, eager to arrive and worship, Shouting praises, singing thanksgiving— celebrating, all of us, God’s feast!’
(Luke 10:38-42 NIV) As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!” “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed–or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”
√ Difficult choices aren’t between good & bad but rather GOOD & BEST.
• It comes down to PRIORITIES
SO HOW DO WE TRAVEL LIGHT?
1 Reduce the DISTRACTIONS.
(1 Corinthians 7:35 NLT) I am saying this for your benefit, not to place restrictions on you. I want you to do whatever will help you serve the Lord best, with as few distractions as possible.
2 Keep the MAIN THING the MAIN THING.
(Proverbs 4:23-27MSG) ‘Keep vigilant watch over your heart; that’s where life starts. Don’t talk out of both sides of your mouth; avoid careless banter, white lies, and gossip. Keep your eyes straight ahead; ignore all sideshow distractions. . . . Look neither right nor left; leave evil in the dust.
(Isaiah 30:21 NLT) Your own ears will hear him. Right behind you a voice will say, “This is the way you should go,” whether to the right or to the left.
