(Psalm 84:5,7 NIV) Blessed are those whose strength is in you, whose hearts are set on pilgrimage. . . . . .They go from strength to strength, till each appears before God in Zion.
(Matthew 17:14-17 NLT) . . . . A man came and knelt before Jesus and said, “Lord, have mercy on my son. He has seizures and suffers terribly. He often falls into the fire or into the water. So I brought him to your disciples, but they couldn’t heal him.”
(Matthew 17:17-18 NLT) Jesus said, “You faithless (unbelieving) and corrupt (perverse) people! How long must I be with you? How long must I put up with you? Bring the boy here to me.” Then Jesus rebuked the demon in the boy, and it left him. From that moment the boy was well.
√ Faithless (unbelieving): NOT CONNECTED to God!
* DOUBT comes from disconnection.
√ Corrupt (perverse): TO CONNECTED to the World.
(Matthew 17:19-21 NKJV) Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not cast it out?” So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. “However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.”
√ PRAYER connects us to God.
√ Fasting DISCONNECTS us from the world.
(Matthew 9:14-15 NLT) One day the disciples of John the Baptist came to Jesus and asked him, “Why don’t your disciples fast like we do and the Pharisees do?” Jesus replied, “Do wedding guests mourn while celebrating with the groom? Of course not. But someday the groom will be taken away from them, and then they will fast.
(Acts 13:2-3 NLT) One day as these men were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Dedicate Barnabas and Saul for the special work to which I have called them.” So after more fasting and prayer, the men laid their hands on them and sent them on their way.
√ Body – connects you with YOU.
√ Soul – connects you with OTHERS.
√ SPIRIT – connects you with GOD.
