(Psalm 77:13-14 NIV) What god is as great as our God? You are the God who performs miracles; you display your power among the peoples.

(John 21:25 NLT) Jesus also did many other things. If they were all written down, I suppose the whole world could not contain the books that would be written.

(Mark 4:35-38 NLT) As evening came, Jesus said to his disciples, “Let’s cross to the other side of the lake.” So they took Jesus in the boat and started out, leaving the crowds behind (although other boats followed). But soon a fierce storm came up. High waves were breaking into the boat, and it began to fill with water. (nearly swamped) Jesus was sleeping at the back of the boat with his head on a cushion. The disciples woke him up, shouting, “Teacher, don’t you care that we’re going to drown?”

(Matthew 8:26-27 NLT) Jesus responded, “Why are you afraid? You have so little faith!” Then he got up and rebuked the wind and waves, and suddenly there was a great calm. The disciples were amazed. “Who is this man?” they asked. “Even the winds and waves obey him!”

1. PHYSICAL Storms
2. EMOTIONAL Storms
3. SPIRITUAL Storms

Storms reveal the DEPTH of our relationships.

What if the MIRACLE was not bringing PEACE IN THE STORM on the OUTSIDE but RATHER CALMING THE STORM ON THE INSIDE?

(Hebrews 6:19 NIV) We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. …

1. Anchored by the FULFILLED PROMISE.
(Ephesians 2:12-13 NLT) In those days you were living apart from Christ. . . . you did not know the covenant promises God had made . . . You lived in this world without God and without hope. But now you have been united . . . to him through the blood of Christ.

(Mark 4:35 NLT) As evening came, Jesus said to his disciples, “Let’s cross to the other side of the lake.”

Can’t let circumstances speak louder than God’s Word.

2. Anchored happens when you’re FAMILIAR with God’s PRESENCE.

(Psalm 91:1-4 NLT) Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. This I declare about the LORD: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him. For he will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease. He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.

Peace is not the ABSENCE OF TROUBLE.
Peace is the PRESENCE OF GOD.

3. Anchored happens when we understand God’s PROCESS.
(Romans 5:2-5 NLT) Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory. We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. . . .

Trouble doesn’t build character it REVEALS IT!
