(Romans 12:2 NLT) Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
The World’s Way:
1. As long as I’M HAPPY.
2.As long as it’s NOT TOO HARD.
3. As long as nothing BETTER COMES ALONG.
God’s Way to Us:
1 .Always GIVING IT ALL.
(Romans 8:31-32 NLT) 31What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us? 32Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else?
2. Always FORGIVING IT ALL.
(1 John 1:9 NLT) But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.
(Lamentations 3:21-23 NLT) 21 Yet I still dare to hope when I remember this: 22 The faithful love of the LORD never ends! His mercies never cease. 23 Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning.(Psalm 103 NLT)... He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases…
Commitment means doing WHAT YOU SAID you would do long after the MOOD YOU SAID IT IN has left.
Our Way:
1. Commit to GOD.
(Matthew 22:37 NLT) Jesus replied, “You must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.”
2. Commit to RELATIONSHIPS.
(1 John 3:16 NLT) We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us. So we also ought to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters.
3. Commit to THE CAUSE.
(Philippians 1:27 NLT) Above all, you must live as citizens of heaven conducting yourselves in a manner worthy of the Good News… standing together with one spirit and one purpose, fighting together for the faith, which is the Good News.
(2 Corinthians 5:17-18, 20 NLT) …So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!”
