(Acts 2:12-15 NIV) Amazed and perplexed, they asked one another, “What does this mean?” Some, however, made fun of them and said, “They have had too much wine.” Then Peter stood up with the Eleven, raised his voice and addressed the crowd: “Fellow Jews and all of you who live in Jerusalem, let me explain this to you; listen carefully to what I say. These people are not drunk, as you suppose. It’s only nine in the morning!
(Acts 2:16 KJV) But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;
√ He is my INNER VOICE.
(John 16:8 NLT) And when he comes, he will convict (NOT condemn) the world of its sin, and of God’s righteousness, and of the coming judgment.
(1 Corinthians 12:3 NLT) . . . no one can say Jesus is Lord, except by the Holy Spirit. —> THE POUNDING HEART
√ He is my TEACHER.
(John 14:26 NLT) But when the Father sends the Advocate (COUNSELOR) as my representative–that is, the Holy Spirit–he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you.
(1 John 2:27 NLT) But you have received the Holy Spirit, and he lives within you, so you don’t need anyone to teach you what is true. For the Spirit teaches you everything you need to know. . .
√ He is my GUIDE.
(John 16:13 NLT) When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future.
(Isaiah 30:21 NIV) Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.”
√ He is my FRIEND.
(John 14:16 NLT) And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you.
(2 Corinthians 13:14 MSG) The amazing grace of the Master, Jesus Christ, the extravagant love of God, the intimate friendship of the Holy Spirit, be with all of you.
(Ephesians 4:30 MSG) Don’t grieve God. Don’t break his heart. His Holy Spirit, moving and breathing in you, is the most intimate part of your life, making you fit for himself. Don’t take such a gift for granted.
1. Holy Spirit SHOW ME.
(Ezekiel 36:26-27 NIV) I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh (external God not is Internal). And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.
(Psalm 139:23-24 NLT) Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life.
2. Holy Spirit CHANGE ME.
(2 Corinthians 3:17-18 NLT) For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. . . . And the Lord–who is the Spirit–makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.
3. Holy Spirit FILL ME.
(Ephesians 5:18 NLT) Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit,
(Acts 13:52 NASB) And the disciples were continually filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.
√ Being filled with the Holy Spirit doesn’t make me BETTER THAN YOU, it makes me BETTER THAN ME.
