PURPOSE = the reason for which something is done or created or for which something exists.

(1 Corinthians 9:26 NIV) Therefore I do not run like someone running aimlessly; I do not fight like a boxer beating the air.
(Proverbs 29:18 KJV) Where there is no vision, the people perish……..
(Proverbs 29:18 NIV) Where there is no revelation, people cast off restraint……

√ Purpose brings FOCUS.
√ Purpose brings ENDURANCE.
√ Purpose brings FULFILLMENT.

(Ephesians 1:11-12 MSG) It’s in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for…… part of the overall purpose he is working outin everything and everyone.

1. To FIND ourselvesto find that purpose, the reason we were created by GOD. God didn’t create you and then try to find something for you.(THIS IS WHAT WE ARE TALKING ABOUT TODAY)

2. To LOSE ourselves. this is now laying down our self interest to serve the lives of others  Look at MARK 8:34…..
(Mark 8:34-5 NIV) Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me and for the gospel will save it.

(Psalm 139:13 NIV) For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
(Jeremiah 29:11 NIV) For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (KJV says…. TO GIVE YOU AN EXPECTED END.)

(Ephesians 5:10 NIV) and find out what pleases the Lord

(Ephesians 5:11 NIV) Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.

(Ephesians 5:14 NIV) This is why it is said: “Wake up, sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.”

(Ephesians 5:15-16 NIV) Be very careful, then, how you live–not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.

(Ephesians 5:17 NIV) Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.

√ Shift your PATTERNS.

Ask yourself 2 questions…….

    • What am I DOING that I SHOULDN’T be doing?
(Romans 12:2 NIV) Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. (watch what happens) THEN….. you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will.

(Proverbs 4:25-26 NIV) Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you. Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways.

next ask your self this….

 • What am I NOT DOING that I SHOULD be doing?

(James 4:17 NIV) If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them

(Matthew 6:34 NIV) Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself…..

√ Give your purpose to something BIGGER than you.

(Esther 4:14 NLT) If you keep quiet at a time like this, deliverance and relief for the Jews will arise from some other place, but you and your relatives will die. Who knows if perhaps you were made queen for just such a time as this?
