(Matthew 13:20-21 NLT) The seed falling on rocky ground refers to someone who hears the word and at once receives it with joy. But since they don’t have deep roots, they don’t last long. They fall away as soon as they have problems or are persecuted for believing God’s word.
Perspectives:
Wrong: It’s NOT FAIR.
Right: It’s NOT FAIR. I deserve WORSE.
(Romans 3:23-24 NLT)For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.Yet God, with undeserved kindness, declares that we are righteous. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins.
Wrong: But look at THEIR LIFE!
Right: Look at MY LIFE!
(Philippians 4:11-13 NIV)…for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength.
Wrong: I’m OVERWHELMED by CIRCUMSTANCES.
Right: I’m OVERWHELMED by GOD.
(Romans 4:19-21 NIV)Without weakening in his faith, (Abraham) faced the fact that his body was as good as dead…Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised.
(Philippians 3:12-14 NIV) Not that I have …already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me… I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
Eternal Perspective: We have the VICTORY through the CROSS!
