(Matthew 5:48 NLT) But you are to be perfect, even as your Father in heaven is perfect. Really? I’m suppose to be perfect?

√ Philip: Failed when TESTED BY JESUS. 
(John 6:5-7 NLT) Jesus soon saw a huge crowd of people coming to look for him. Turning to Philip, he asked, “Where can we buy bread to feed all these people?” He was testing Philip, for he already knew what he was going to do. Philip replied, “Even if we worked for months, we wouldn’t have enough money to feed them!”
√ YET Philip Great PREACHER & Performed MIRACLES.

(Acts 8:6 NLT) Crowds listened intently to Philip because they were eager to hear his message and see the miraculous signs he did.

√ James & John: SELFISH
(Matthew 20:21 NLT) “What is your request?” he asked. She replied, “In your Kingdom, please let my two sons sit in places of honor next to you, one on your right and the other on your left.”

√ YET they watched Jesus talk with MOSES & ELIJAH.  they also watched Jesus raise a girl from the dead
(Matthew 17:1-3 NLT) Six days later Jesus took Peter and the two brothers, James and John, and led them up a high mountain to be alone.

√ Peter: IMPULSIVE & EMOTIONAL, & DENIED Christ.
(John 18:10 NLT) Then Simon Peter, having a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant, and cut off his right ear.

(John 18:26-27 NLT) One of the servants of the high priest, a relative of him whose ear Peter cut off, said, “Did I not see you in the garden with Him?” Peter then denied again; and immediately a rooster crowed.

√ YET Peter WALKED ON WATER, preached and 3000 PEOPLE GOT SAVED, & performed MIRACLES.
(Matthew 14:28) ….tell me to come to you, walking on the water.” (Acts 2:41 NLT)  (Acts 3:7 NLT)

(Hebrews 10:10, 14, 17 NLT) 
vs.10 For God’s will was for us to be made holy by the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ, once for all time.
vs.14 For by that one offering he forever made perfect those who are being made holy.

LOOK WHAT HAPPENS NEXT!
vs.17 Then he says, “I will never again remember their sins and lawless deeds.”

YOU ARE NOT PERFECT HE WAS PERFECTION FOR YOU

√ I don’t have to be PERFECT, HE WAS FOR ME!

√ I pursue PERFECTION in CHRIST!

(1 John 4:17-19 NLT) vs.17 And AS WE LIVE IN GOD, our love grows more perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world.

vs.18 Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love.
vs.19 We love each other because he loved us first.
