(1 Peter 3:21 NLT) And that water is a picture of baptism, which now saves you, not by removing dirt from your body, but as a response to God from a clean conscience.
(Romans 10:10 NLT) For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved.
√ BAPTISM is a response to a DECISION.
(Acts 8:12-13 NLT) … people believed Philip’s message of Good News concerning the Kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ. As a result, many men and women were baptized. Then Simon himself believed and was baptized.
√ Baptism is always POST decision.
(Acts 2:41 NLT) Those who believed what Peter said were baptized and added to the church that day–about 3,000 in all.
(Galatians 3:26-7 NLT) For you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus. And all who have been united with Christ in baptism have put on Christ, like putting on new clothes.
(Acts 22:14-16 NLT) ….. chosen you to know his will and to see the Righteous One and hear him speak. For you are to be his witness, telling everyone what you have seen and heard. What are you waiting for? Get up and be baptized………
√ Baptism is an OUTWARD demonstration of an INNER work.
(Romans 6:3-4 NLT) Or have you forgotten that when we were joined with Christ Jesus in baptism, we joined him in his death? For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives.
√ Baptism is a PHYSICAL experience of a ETERNAL freedom.
(Romans 6:6-7 NLT) We know that our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ so that sin might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin. For when we died with Christ we were set free from the power of sin.
√ Baptism is a demonstrated COMMAND.
(Matthew 3:14-17 NLT) But John tried to talk him out of it. “I am the one who needs to be baptized by you,” he said, “so why are you coming to me?” But Jesus said, “It should be done, for we must carry out all that God requires.” So John agreed to baptize him. After his baptism, as Jesus came up out of the water, the heavens were opened and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and settling on him. And a voice from heaven said, “This is my dearly loved Son, who brings me great joy.”
(Matthew 28:19-20 NLT) Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
√ Baptism is not an EXPERIENCE but a LIFESTYLE.
(Matthew 10:32-33 NLT) “Everyone who acknowledges me publicly here on earth, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven. But everyone who denies me here on earth, I will also deny before my Father in heaven.
