(Proverbs 17: 24 GN) An intelligent person aims at wise action, but a fool starts off in many directions.
√ My RESISTANCE is lower.
(Luke 21:34 NIV) “Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you suddenly like a trap.
√ My EMOTIONS are erratic.
(Job 9:25 NLT) “My life passes more swiftly than a runner. It flees away without a glimpse of happiness. (w\o seeing joy)
√ My PRODUCTIVITY suffers.
(Ecclesiastes 10:10 NLT) Using a dull ax requires great strength, so sharpen the blade. That’s the value of wisdom; it helps you succeed.
(Proverbs 19:2 NLT) Enthusiasm without knowledge is no good; haste makes mistakes.
√ My RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD seems distant.
(Psalm 46:10 NLT) “Be still, and know that I am God! ….”
(Ecclesiastes 4:6 NLT) “… Better to have one handful with quietness than two handfuls with hard work and chasing the wind.”
(Hebrews 4:9-11 NIV) There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his. Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will perish by following their example of disobedience. (THEY = ISRAELITES WHO FAILED TO ENTER IN THRU CHRIST)
1. I will REST my body.
(Psalm 127:2 NLT) It is useless for you to work so hard from early morning until late at night, anxiously working for food to eat; for God gives rest to his loved ones.
2. I will REPLENISH my soul.
√ With QUIETNESS.
(Psalm 23:2-3 NIV) He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.
√ With ENJOYMENT.
(Proverbs 17:22 NLT) A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person’s strength.
√ With PEOPLE.
(Hebrews 10:25 NLT) And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another,
especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.
3. I will REFOCUS my spirit.
(Psalm 92:1-2 10, 12, 13, 14 NLT) A psalm. A song to be sung on the Sabbath Day. It is good to give thanks to the LORD, to sing praises to the Most High. It is good to proclaim your unfailing love in the morning, your faithfulness in the evening,
VS10 But you have made me as strong as a wild ox. You have anointed me with the finest oil.
VS12 But the godly will flourish like palm trees ….
VS13 For they are transplanted to the LORD’s own house. They flourish in the courts of our God.
VS14 Even in old age they will still produce fruit; they will remain vital and green.
