FROM THE START…. We have to be careful the Holy Spirit is not a FORCE, A THING, or a IT.
√ The Holy Spirit is a PERSON.
(John 14:16-17 NKJV) I will ask the Father. He will give you another Helper. he may abide w\ You forever.. neither sees Him or knows Him
(John 14:25-26 NKJV) … He will teach you all things.
(John 15:26 NKJV) Helper comes that I will send…
(John 16:7-12-13 NKJV) I must go away or Helper will not come… many things to say
paraklētos —> para = along side & klētos = to walk …. to walk along side
How does He help…..
√ He is the voice of the FATHER. (Assurance)
(2 Corinthians 1:21-22 NKJV) Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God, who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.
(Ephesians 1:13-14 NKJV) .. in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance…
(Ephesians 4:30 NKJV) do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
√ He is a TEACHER.
(John 16:12-13 NKJV) “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. “However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.
(John 14:26 NKJV) .. He will teach you all things.
√ He is PEACE.
(John 14:26, 27 NKJV) … and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you;
(Lamentations 3:21-24 NKJV) My soul still remembers And sinks within me. This I recall to my mind, Therefore I have hope.
√ He tells you what to SAY & what NOT to SAY.
(2 peter 1:21 NKJV) for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.
(Revelation 2:7 NKJV) he who has ears to hear… what the Spirit says.
√ He is the voice of LOVE. He is the mouth piece that show and brings us to the very LOVE of God.
(John 16: 8-11 NKJV) And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
WRONG VIEW 1. Convict You of Sin b\c i’m a bad person. 2. I’m Not living right. 3. One day God is going to get me.
RIGHT VIEW 1. Convict me b\c I need a Savior. 2. Thru Jesus I am righteous in His sight. 3. Satan no longer has any dominion over me!
