God is Not Mad at You!
(John 3:36 NIV) – Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.
Four False Ideas:
1. I’ve sinned TOO MUCH.
(Colossians 1:19-23 NLT) – … 22 Yet now he has reconciled you to himself through the death of Christ in his physical body. As a result, he has brought you into his own presence, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault…
2. I’m not DOING ENOUGH.
(Ephesians 2:8-9 NLT) – 8 God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. 9 Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.
3. God is just like MY DAD.
(Hebrews 4:15-16 NLT) – 15 This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin. 16 So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.
(Romans 2:4 NLT)- Don’t you see how wonderfully kind, tolerant, and patient God is with you? Does this mean nothing to you? Can’t you see that his kindness is intended to turn you from your sin?
4. God is PUNISHING ME.
(John 16:33 NLT) – …Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.
√ It’s bigger than JUST ME.
(1Peter 3:15 NLT) – Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your Christian hope, always be ready to explain it.
