(Proverbs 18:14 NLT) The human spirit can endure a sick body, but who can bear a crushed spirit?(Psalm 42:3-5 NLT) Day and night I have only tears for food, while my enemies continually taunt me, saying, “Where is this God of yours?” My heart is breaking as I remember how it used to be: I walked among the crowds of worshipers, leading a great procession to the house of God, singing for joy and giving thanks amid the sound of a great celebration! Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again— my Savior and my God!

CHANGE DOES NOT HAPPEN OUTSIDE IN BUT RATHER INSIDE OUT.

(Proverbs 4:23 NLT) Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.
(Proverbs 23:7 NKJV) For as he thinks in his heart, so is he….

√ We let CULTURE define who we are.

√ We let OUR PAST define who we are.

(ROMANS 12:3 NIV) Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.

√ HIGHLY – an IMPROPER view. hyperphoneo

√ SOBER – having a RIGHT MIND.  sōphroneō

√ You’ll never BE RIGHT until you can SEE RIGHT.

(Judges 6:11-16, 24 NLT) Then the angel of the Lord came and sat beneath the great tree at Ophrah, which belonged to Joash of the clan of Abiezer. Gideon son of Joash was threshing wheat at the bottom of a winepress to hide the grain from the Midianites. The angel of the Lord appeared to him and said, “Mighty hero, the Lord is with you!”  “Sir,” Gideon replied, “if the Lord is with us, why has all this happened to us? And where are all the miracles our ancestors told us about? Didn’t they say, ‘The Lord brought us up out of Egypt’? But now the Lord has abandoned us and handed us over to the Midianites.” Then the Lord turned to him and said, “Go with the strength you have, and rescue Israel from the Midianites. I am sending you!”  “But Lord,” Gideon replied, “how can I rescue Israel? My clan is the weakest in the whole tribe of Manasseh, and I am the least in my entire family!” …..  The Lord said to him, “I will be with you. And you will destroy the Midianites as if you were fighting against one.

3 THINGS FROM STORY ………….. THIS IS HOW WE OVERCOME INSECURITY.

1. SEE GOD correctly.
(Psalm 59:10 NLT) In his unfailing love, my God will stand with me. He will let me look down in triumph on all my enemies.

2. SEE MYSELF the way God sees me.
(1 Peter 2:9 NLT) you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.

3. GET AROUND PEOPLE who see me the way God sees me.
THE WORST THING YOU CAN DO WHEN YOU DOWN IS STAY HOME!!!!

(Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 NLT) Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble.

RIGHT RELATIONSHIPS help define who we are and what we become.
